Join Dalkia at One of the UK’s Leading Power Stations. Dalkia is seeking a proactive and detail-focused Site Waste Coordinator to join our team at Hunterston Power Station. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a high-profile, safety-critical environment, playing a key role in ensuring waste management activities meet the highest environmental, regulatory, and operational standards. As Site Waste Coordinator, you will support the effective management of waste operations across site, ensuring compliance with legislation and site procedures while driving high standards of housekeeping and environmental performance.

Job Responsibility:

  • Characterising, handling, and managing hazardous and non-hazardous waste in line with UK and EU regulations
  • Ensuring correct storage, segregation, containerisation, labelling, and coordination of waste collections
  • Maintaining accurate waste documentation and records, including contributing to monthly waste analysis and identifying opportunities for waste reduction
  • Managing housekeeping standards across waste storage areas and ensuring associated safety equipment is maintained
  • Conducting environmental inspections and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across site
  • Leading a team, including FLT Drivers, waste Operatives
  • Conducting risk assessments (RAMS)
  • Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety regulations
  • Compliance with waste regulations/ environmental
  • Engaging with the client and attending meetings

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable waste management knowledge and experience
  • Strong organisation, coordination, and communication skills
  • A proactive attitude with excellent attention to detail
  • A valid forklift licence (desirable but not essential)
