Job Description

We’re looking for a friendly and reliable Site Operative to join our recycling centre team in Tonbridge. This hands-on role involves supporting the public with safe and efficient recycling of household waste. If you enjoy working outdoors, interacting with people, and making a positive impact in your local community, this is the role for you.

Job Responsibility

  • Supporting the public with safe disposal of household waste and promoting effective recycling
  • Greeting customers and maintaining a helpful, positive attitude
  • Keeping the site clean, safe, and compliant with health & safety regulations
  • Using digital devices to manage bookings, vouchers, and electronic payments
  • Reporting safety issues promptly to site management
  • Performing regular cleaning tasks including sweeping, litter picking, and spill control
  • Reinforcing site rules and promoting responsible site usage
  • Wearing a body camera (provided) to support site safety for both staff and customers

Requirements

  • A can-do attitude and willingness to learn on the job
  • Strong customer service skills and confidence in dealing with the public
  • Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively
  • Flexibility to work weekends—this role is specifically for Saturdays and Sundays
  • A keen eye for safety and cleanliness on site
