Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Freelance Site Manager to oversee a civils project in the North East, commencing immediately. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing civils projects, with specific experience in general plotworks. The successful Site Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the site, ensuring the project is completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee all on-site activities, ensuring work is carried out safely and efficiently
Manage and coordinate subcontractors, plant, and materials
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations (HSE)
Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks
Maintain accurate site records, including daily diaries and progress reports
Liaise with the project team, clients, and other stakeholders
Resolve any on-site issues or challenges promptly and effectively
Drive the project forward to meet key programme dates

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Site Manager on civils projects
Demonstrable experience in general plotworks is essential
Valid CSCS card (Manager level)
Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certificate
First Aid at Work (preferred but not essential for application, may be required before starting)
Strong understanding of construction methodologies and best practices
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and make informed decisions
Based in or able to easily commute to the North East region
