Job Description:

The Site Lead Technician is responsible for on-site operations, maintenance, repairs, and replacement of equipment at a wind-energy generation site, leading plant operations and working with contractors and internal departments.

Job Responsibility:

Provide leadership to team of up to 10 Field Service Technicians
Ensure proper operation and maintenance of wind turbines and associated wind plant equipment
Perform mechanical and electrical component repair and replacement
Perform preventive maintenance in accordance with OEM manuals
Perform data collection and prepare reports
Facilitate periodic equipment inspections
Act as safety role model and ensure compliance with safety programs

Requirements:

1+ years of college or technical school education, or equivalent combination of training and experience
2-5 years of relevant experience in wind energy or related industry
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software, SQL Server software, facility management and reporting systems
Familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment
Working knowledge of crane and rigging
Ability to operate a motor vehicle and possession of valid driver's license
Ability to work around low- and medium-voltage equipment
Ability to climb turbine towers in excess of 100 meters
Weight must not exceed 275 pounds excluding equipment/gear

Nice to have:

Experience with power plant operations and maintenance
Wind plant operations and turbines experience
High voltage switching experience
Post-operational repair and maintenance of turbines experience
Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Strong Communication, Customer/Partner Relationships, and Technology Expertise
