Job Description:

Site Engineer role within the Energy division, assisting with the delivery of renewable energy projects in a Civils based environment throughout Scotland. The role involves overseeing all aspects of on-site engineering of assigned projects, reporting to the Project Manager.

Job Responsibility:

  • Health & Safety implementation
  • Carrying out all aspects of on-site engineering from design checks, take offs, setting out and quality control throughout the project lifecycle
  • Producing, maintaining and amending site documents
  • Writing and preparing site paperwork including construction phase plans, works package plans, method statements, task briefings, risk assessments and site permits
  • Managing the production of site quality documents e.g. ITPs and quality checklists etc
  • Attending pre-start and contract meetings
  • Managing sub-contractors (programme and compliance)
  • Involvement in delivery of multiple sites at any one time (where appropriate)
  • Client liaison which involves providing reports and progress meetings
  • Document control via Story Contracting web-based portal
  • Keeping contemporaneous records of project costs within your control

Requirements:

  • Valid CSCS card
  • Full driving licence
  • Full First Aid certified
  • CAT & Genny trained
  • Qualified to degree level in civil engineering or HNC / HND
  • Competent in carrying out all aspects of site setting out, engineering and surveying utilising various setting out equipment
  • Working knowledge of IT systems, specifically Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in creating WPP, TB, Permit to Dig, ITPs
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders at all levels
  • Willingness to work weekends, shift work and work away from home

Nice to have:

  • Preferred working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • SMSTS 5 Day Site Safety certified
