Job Description:

A highly competent and detail-driven Site Engineer with proven experience working for Tier One contractors on civil engineering and infrastructure projects. Skilled in setting out, quality assurance, and delivering works in accordance with design specifications, safety standards, and programme requirements. Demonstrates strong technical knowledge of drainage installation and multi-utility installation / coordination. An experienced Site Engineer suited to Tier One contractor environments, offering strong technical setting-out ability, robust QA knowledge, and practical experience delivering complex civil and utility infrastructure projects safely and efficiently.

Job Responsibility:

  • Carry out accurate setting out for civil engineering works using modern surveying equipment
  • Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, and tolerances
  • Conduct site quality assurance checks, inspections, and documentation
  • Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical standards
  • Liaise with site management, subcontractors, designers, and client representatives
  • Maintain accurate site records including as-built surveys and reports
  • Support planning and sequencing of works to meet programme targets
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements

Requirements:

  • Valid CSCS Card (essential)
  • Relevant engineering qualification (HNC / HND / Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline preferred)
  • SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable but not essential)
  • Competent in setting out using: GPS survey equipment
  • Total Station

  • Strong understanding of highway specifications and standards
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Willingness to mentor / upskill BBMU apprentice & graduate site engineers
  • Demonstrable experience as a Site Engineer on civil engineering or infrastructure projects
