Job Description:

Sister - Charge Nurse at Ross Hall Hospital in Glasgow, part of Circle Health Group. This is a part-time role for 24 hours a week covering a flexible shift pattern in the Nursing department.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide hands-on clinical care, acting as a senior point of support for complex or deteriorating patients
  • Coordinate daily clinical activity and ensure safe staffing levels, skill mix, and continuity of care
  • Promote high standards of nursing practice through supervision, coaching, and role modelling
  • Allocate and supervise staff during shifts, ensuring responsibilities are clearly defined and patient needs are met
  • Support the development, appraisal, and competency assessment of junior nurses, HCAs, and students
  • Contribute to the induction and ongoing development of new staff, ensuring adherence to clinical standards and policies
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with NMC and organisational standards
  • Promote compliance with infection prevention, medication safety, safeguarding, and other clinical governance priorities
  • Report and support investigations of incidents, complaints, and near misses, contributing to a culture of safety and learning

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (Adult) with valid NMC registration
  • Significant post-registration experience in an acute or relevant specialty
  • Experience in leading and supervising a team within a clinical environment
  • Strong clinical decision-making, communication, and coordination skills
