Sister/charge nurse

• Supervise junior staff and students
• Manage the delivery of nursing services provided by the overall clinical management team
• Ensure the effective and smooth running of PIU sessions
• Support with management duties and deputise for the lead nurse in their absence
• Support the clinical team in particular junior members of staff, and complete management duties in the absence of the lead nurse

• 1st level registered nurse/HCPC registered practitioner
• Mentor preparation qualification or equivalent
• Willingness to do a management qualification or equivalent experience
• Highly effective interpersonal/communication skills
• Organisational skills to reflect departmental standards and effective skill mix
• Ability to develop staff through performance review and clinical supervision

• Clinical experience in an PIU setting

• Knowledge of local/professional policies and procedures
• Knowledge and understanding of resource management
