Join T&E in Driving a Global Transition to Zero-Emission Transport and Energy. For more than 35 years, T&E (Transport & Environment) has been at the forefront of decarbonizing transport and energy, leading the way toward a cleaner, more sustainable future. Starting in Europe, our independent, evidence-based research, coupled with powerful advocacy and communications, has helped shape impactful policies that accelerate a just and efficient transition to zero-emission transportation and energy. However, achieving our mission requires global collaboration. In 2025, we are expanding our work to the Asia-Pacific region. Starting in Singapore, we are recruiting a dynamic, self-starter as our Singapore Director to lead this effort. In this role, you will be responsible for establishing and managing T&E’s Singapore operations, developing strategic stakeholder relationships, and driving our initiatives forward. Additionally, you will oversee project quality and budget management to ensure the successful delivery of our goals. This position will report to the Senior Project Manager (Asia-Pacific) and work closely with teams in Brussels when necessary.
Job Responsibility:
Overseeing all administrative tasks related to establishing and managing T&E’s office in Singapore, ensuring full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
Provide regular internal reports to update both internal and external stakeholders on the progress of the Singapore office
Demonstrate strong leadership and management skills to attract top local talent and foster strategic partnerships across key industries, government agencies, and international networks
Collaborate with teams in Brussels to develop and implement strategic initiatives, crafting policy papers and projects that align with T&E’s organizational priorities in Singapore
Leading and implementing T&E’s political strategy in Singapore and support T&Es work across Asia-Pacific
Recruit and lead a team of policy, campaign, and analytical staff, overseeing their professional development and guiding their work to achieve T&E’s priorities
Support fundraising efforts for the organization
Further developing T&E’s advocacy strategy towards high level international and national regulators, politicians, and media, presenting at high level meetings and events
Coordinating policy positions and strategies with other Directors and Senior Directors
Leading and guiding the team in efforts to build partnerships with key industry players, funders, NGOs and other civil society organizations
Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years managing high-impact projects and leading cross-cultural teams, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within an international organization
Experience working in an NGO would be an advantage
Proven expertise in project quality management with a solutions-driven approach
Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects
Strong network within the Asia-Pacific and Singapore policy instruments communities and a solid understanding of international decarbonizing issues
Experience in strategic planning and policy analysis, with the ability to think critically and innovatively about how to decarbonize transport and energy sectors
Good financial acumen, with experience in budget management
Ability to deliver to tight deadlines
eager to learn, with a positive and optimistic attitude when faced with challenges
The confidence to think and act with initiative, to engage and influence policy-makers of different stripes, industry representatives and other stakeholders at the highest level
The ability and motivation to learn technical, economic and legal information, to independently develop new political, economic or legal arguments and evidence and use them to convince key stakeholders
Ability to navigate and contribute effectively within a remote, multicultural team environment
Strong capability to identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks in Singapore
Fluency in English
Prefer a Singapore Permanent Resident or Citizen
