Key technical role within the Centre for Maritime Simulations. The Simulation Visual Modeller plays a key technical role within the Centre for Maritime Simulations (CMS), supporting teaching, research and commercial operations through the development and maintenance of high-quality simulation environments.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and maintain low-polygon, textured 3D models for use in Kongsberg Polaris and K-SIM simulation systems
Create, modify and maintain Electronic Navigation Charts (ENC) and associated geospatial datasets including bathymetric and tidal data
Ensure models and datasets are accurately documented, version controlled and maintained to reflect real-world conditions
Collaborate with internal teams and commercial clients to deliver high-quality simulation environments within agreed timeframes
Support the day-to-day operational needs of the Centre for Maritime Simulations as required
Requirements:
Relevant tertiary qualification in 3D Modelling, CAD, Geospatial Science, Computer Graphics, or a related discipline
or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education
Demonstrated experience in CAD, 3D modelling and texturing (e.g., Blender, AutoCAD or similar)
