Job Description:

The Simulation Technician works with the Learning Lab Instructor to facilitate high-fidelity simulation scenarios using patient manikins for nursing students at all levels of learning in on-site Learning Labs. Responsible for the technical setup, operation, maintenance, and support of simulation equipment used in training and education.

Job Responsibility:

  • Facilitate high-fidelity simulation scenarios for nursing students
  • Technical setup, operation, maintenance, and support of simulation equipment
  • Support daily lab operations
  • Assist in operating the learning lab
  • Maintain simulation equipment
  • Prepare for and support simulation activities
  • Provide feedback for improving the simulation experience
  • Serve as a professional role model for students
  • Assist with lab supplies inventory
  • Orient students and faculty to simulation lab
  • Perform pre-simulation activities (program scenarios, setup control room, prepare props and moulage)
  • Perform simulation activities (pre-brief participants, operate simulation console and software, operate instructional media equipment, manipulate simulator, record activities, provide theatrical support)
  • Perform post-simulation activities (assist with debriefing equipment, return simulation room to pre-scenario condition, retrieve supplies, ensure recording files are available)

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • 3 years of professional work experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Basic IT skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Experience with simulation lab operations
  • Comfort with technology
  • Ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work with computers (PC or MAC experience required)
  • Ability to work with a simulation center management application
  • Creativity and flexibility in problem-solving
