Job Description

Performs as a skilled tradesman in the fabrication and installation of the campus sign systems. On occasion, may provide skilled master brush, roll and spray painting of interior and exterior building walls and fixtures, as well as finishing drywall, as necessary. Contributes to team effort and harmonious working relationships with others in the Department and throughout MUSC. Maintains continuity between individual job assignments and work of others. Performs work in most efficient and cost effective methods. Performs other related and non-related duties as required.

  • Maintains continuity between individual job assignments and work of others
  • Performs work in most efficient and cost effective methods
  • Troubleshoots sign problems and makes recommendations to supervisor on solutions
  • Alerts supervisor on inventory issues and maintains a clean and organized shop area
  • Maximizes the use of the AiM work order system software
  • Performs repairs, updates, fabrications, removals and installations of the campus-wide sign systems
  • Skillfully uses the various sign equipment

Requirements

  • A high school diploma and three years trade experience that is directly related to the area of employment
  • Some positions require a commercial driver's license
  • Some positions require EPA-approved freon recovery certification
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid drivers license
  • Ability to obtain and maintain EPA Approved Freon recovery certification
