Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced, self-driven Production Manager to lead our production floor at Signarama Lancaster. We are a full-service sign business that has served Lancaster for over 26 years. Our purpose is to enable organizations to communicate their message with pride — and the Production Manager is central to delivering on that. We serve the Lancaster, Reading, and Camp Hill markets in Central PA, and our production capabilities include large-format digital printing, flatbed UV printing, vinyl cutting and weeding, lamination, and finishing. The right candidate will be someone who thrives in a hands-on environment, takes ownership of quality, and can bring stability and leadership to a growing team. As our Production Manager, you will be the engine of our sign-making operation. You will be responsible for operating and overseeing our production equipment, managing jobs through our production workflow in Corebridge, maintaining quality standards, and leading and developing our production team — including our Printer Technician(s) and Graphic Installer. Our production capabilities include large-format roll-to-roll printing, flatbed UV printing, CNC cutting and routing, vinyl cutting and weeding, lamination, finishing, and graphic installation. We are continuously investing in our equipment and technology to stay ahead of the market. The right candidate will be someone who adapts quickly to new tools and platforms and takes pride in mastering the production process end-to-end.

Job Responsibility:

  • Operate large-format roll-to-roll and flatbed printers with confidence
  • adapt to new printer platforms as the shop evolves
  • Operate CNC cutting and routing equipment to produce precise, finished sign components
  • Prepare and process print-ready files through RIP software
  • Perform all required daily and weekly equipment maintenance: nozzle checks, printhead cleaning, calibration, and media management
  • Operate laminators, vinyl plotters, and finishing equipment to produce complete, customer-ready signage
  • Perform quality control checks on all output before it moves to finishing, installation, or delivery
  • Manage the daily production queue — checking in jobs, updating statuses, and communicating progress to the project management team
  • Coordinate with project managers to prioritize rush jobs and manage daily output targets
  • Identify bottlenecks or quality issues and resolve them proactively
  • Monitor media and ink inventory levels
  • place reorders as needed to prevent production delays
  • Directly manage and develop the Printer Technician(s) — providing day-to-day direction, quality feedback, and hands-on coaching
  • Directly manage the Graphic Installer — coordinating installation schedules, reviewing job details pre-install, and ensuring jobs are completed on time and to standard
  • Model the Core Values in all interactions with team members
  • Develop and maintain written SOPs and training materials for the production team
  • Assist in interviewing and onboarding production staff as the team grows
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production workspace at all times
  • Keep all equipment in proper operating condition
  • coordinate service calls when needed
  • Manage relationships with equipment service contacts and media/ink vendors

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience operating large-format inkjet printers (roll-to-roll and/or flatbed)
  • Experience working in a sign production, print production, or related manufacturing environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot print quality issues: banding, color inconsistency, media feeding problems
  • Proven ability to lead and direct a small production team
  • Strong attention to detail and a genuine commitment to quality
  • Organized, self-directed, and comfortable working without constant supervision
  • Excellent communication skills — able to coordinate clearly with project managers and report issues proactively
  • Comfortable learning new equipment and production technologies as the shop evolves
  • Physically fit: ability to lift up to 80 lbs and stand for extended periods

Nice to have:

  • Experience with CNC cutting or routing equipment (Colex, Zünd, Kongsberg, or similar)
  • Sign fabrication experience — dimensional letters, metal or acrylic fabrication, channel letters, or similar
  • Experience performing graphic installations — vehicle wraps, window graphics, wall murals, or exterior signage
  • Experience with production management or job tracking software (Corebridge or similar)
  • Familiarity with RIP software (Onyx, Caldera, or similar)
  • Basic design software knowledge (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or CorelDraw) for file prep
What we offer:
  • 401(k)
  • 401(k) matching
  • Bonus based on performance
  • Company parties
  • Free uniforms
  • Paid time off
  • Profit sharing
  • Training & development
