The Sign Designer position is an integral role within our sign company. As a designer, you will work closely with the sales team and project managers to execute professional and high-quality sign designs using your specialized skills and experience. The ideal candidate is an established and experienced Sign Designer and is proficient with CorelDRAW software. At minimum, design experience within a similar industry, creating detailed, high-quality architectural designs, rendering complex and detailed layouts for buildings, engineering, construction, etc., will be invaluable to this role. This position is full-time at our office in west Phoenix.
Job Responsibility:
Collaborates effectively with sales and project management teams to create high quality sign designs (e.g., channel letters, monuments, vinyl/plex) in a timely manner and within budget
Maintain clear and intentional communication to ensure smooth coordination and execution of projects in database and written communications
The ability to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining integrity for safety standards
Following workflow queues to ensure timely completion or edits to present designs
Read blueprints, legend symbols, scale of plan, and diagrams from different angles
Drafting for simple and complex sign designs
Can troubleshoot using basic mathematics, pays meticulous attention to detail, has a strong grasp of building and structural mechanics
Communicating and maintaining accurate records of designs and projects, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete
Comply with OSHA and Company safety policies and procedures
Requirements:
Able to provide high quality portfolio samples of sign projects for review
Minimum 2 years of sign design industry or experience designing for a similar industry
Experience and proficiency with CorelDRAW preferred
Proficiency with Adobe design products, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook
Detail-oriented with effective communication skills and professionalism
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to achieve project goals and deadlines
Works well with others and possess effective communication skills
Must be able to read blueprints
Regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
Ability to tolerate significant and prolonged periods of sitting and standing while working at a desk and in front of a computer
Frequent use of a computer, mouse, keyboard, and other office equipment which requires the use of one’s eyes, hands, and fingers to type, grasp, handle files, etc.
May involve lifting and moving weight up to 15lbs, without assistance or supervision, using proper bending and lifting techniques
