Job Description

In this role, you will play a critical part in the planning and successful execution of scheduled maintenance shutdowns, creating detailed work schedules, coordinating resources and ensuring all activities are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and to quality standards. This role will be based out of our Wodgina site on a 8D6X Roster. Reporting directly into the Superintendent of Planning, you will work closely with operations, maintenance, procurement and contractors to optimise resource utilisation, minimise downtime and improve plant reliability.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop detailed shutdown work plans for processing plant and supporting infrastructure, including labour, materials, tools, and equipment requirements
  • Create and maintain shutdown schedules in Microsoft Project, identifying critical paths and priorities for efficient execution
  • Coordinate task dependencies and integrate maintenance activities with other shutdown operations
  • Liaise with procurement, warehouse, and contractor teams to ensure timely availability and mobilisation of resources
  • Develop work job packs with a focus on safety, compliance, and operational readiness
  • Collaborate with stakeholders including operations, reliability, and project groups to ensure alignment and efficient work execution
  • Provide regular progress updates, risk assessments, and adjustments to plans during shutdown execution
  • Review completed tasks post‑shutdown, analyse performance outcomes, and make recommendations for future improvements

Requirements

  • Relevant Trade Qualifications and significant shutdown planning experience within mining, processing or heavy industry
  • Proficiency in planning software’s including Pronto or SAP and strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Knowledge of asset management principles, Australian Standards, and legislative obligations relevant to shutdowns
  • Strong mechanical acumen and analytical problem‑solving skills
  • Experience developing technical documentation, job plans, budget planning and quality assurance procedures
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with proven ability to coordinate internal teams and external contractors
  • Strong safety awareness and practical experience implementing HSE standards during shutdowns
