Job Description:

As a Shutdown Manager at Coates, you will lead the operational delivery and compliance of shutdown projects across the West Business Unit. With a strong focus on safety, customer outcomes and commercial performance, you will oversee the provision of professional, reliable and efficient shutdown products and services, maximising sales and profitability through effective team leadership. While the role does involve working away during shutdowns travel is typically known well in advance allowing for effective planning.

Job Responsibility:

  • Partnering with Sales and Industrial Solutions teams to scope, price and deliver shutdown work
  • Managing quotations, contracts and commercial outcomes for shutdown projects
  • Leading shutdown planning and execution on site, including mobilisation and demobilisation
  • Coordinating the delivery of equipment, services and resources to meet shutdown scope, volume and timelines
  • Leading and developing employees and subcontractors to deliver safe, efficient shutdown outcomes
  • Managing financial performance, costs and resources across shutdown activities
  • Building strong customer relationships by understanding shutdown needs and delivering to plan

Requirements:

  • Experience in operational and/or sales management
  • Experience running a workshop, leading a mechanical trade team, or supervising field service staff
  • Strong shutdown and project management capability, delivering work safely, on time and within budget
  • Demonstrated leadership of diverse operational workforces in high-risk environments
  • A proven track record of driving safety improvement outcomes
  • Background in industrial maintenance or shutdowns (mining, petrochemical or manufacturing preferred)
  • Strong commercial acumen, including business development and P&L responsibility
