Job Description

Job Responsibility

  • Weld structural metal components using the Short-Arc (GMAW) tack welding technique
  • Follow blueprints, work orders, and oral instructions to complete welding tasks
  • Ensure welds meet quality standards and specifications
  • Enters and moves through manholes to reach and work in internally confined spaces
  • Provides ship fitter with assistance whenever deemed necessary
  • Provides fire watch duties

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 months of tack welding experience
  • Must pass a hands-on Short-Arc (GMAW) tacker T-joint test in the vertical and overhead positions with the vertical position tack welded with downhill progression
  • Must be able to work in confined/enclosed spaces
  • Must be able to work/climb in elevations greater than 5′
