Job Description

We are looking for a Shopify Tech Lead / Architect (all genders) to join Valtech and work on enterprise-level commerce solutions for global brands. At Valtech, we design and build scalable, high-performance digital commerce platforms at the intersection of technology, creativity, data, and experience design. You will act as a technical authority across projects, working closely with clients, architects, product owners, and delivery teams. This role combines strategic thinking, technical leadership, and hands-on contribution in complex areas.

Job Responsibility

  • Define and own the technical architecture of Shopify-based eCommerce solutions
  • Lead technical discovery, estimation, and solution design
  • Make architectural decisions regarding platform approach, integrations, and performance
  • Guide teams on best practices, coding standards, and architectural patterns
  • Create structured onboarding paths for: Frontend developers & Backend / integration engineers
  • Mentor and support engineers through code reviews and technical guidance
  • Identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies early
  • Ensure secure, scalable, and high-performance solutions aligned with business goals
  • Contribute hands-on in complex, high-impact areas of the solution
  • Continuously improve architecture, performance, and engineering processes

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional engineering experience, with strong expertise in Shopify-based eCommerce solutions
  • Deep understanding of Shopify architecture, including Shopify Plus capabilities and limitations
  • Advanced proficiency in Liquid, JavaScript, Node.js, and CSS
  • Strong proficiency in React
  • Experience with Redux
  • Solid understanding of responsive design and SEO principles
  • Proven experience designing enterprise-scale Shopify architectures
  • Strong experience with complex integrations using GraphQL and REST APIs (ERP, CRM, OMS, PIM)
  • Ability to evaluate and define technical approaches and architectural patterns
  • Experience defining and enforcing engineering standards and best practices
  • Proven leadership experience, including mentoring engineers and guiding technical decisions
  • Experience leading technical discovery, estimation, and solution design
