Shop Supervisor role for a charity furniture shop, supporting the Shop Manager in day-to-day operations, driving sales, delivering customer service, and leading volunteers. The role involves manual handling of donated furniture.
Job Responsibility:
Support the Shop Manager in running the day-to-day operations of the Castleford Furniture shop
Drive sales
Deliver excellent customer service
Lead a team of dedicated volunteers
Deputise for the Shop Manager to ensure the shop runs smoothly and profitably
Perform regular manual handling of donated stock
Requirements:
Retail experience, ideally in a supervisory role
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to organise, prioritise and work to sales targets
Ability to process donated stock efficiently and maintain high merchandising standards
Flexible, positive and proactive approach to team leadership
Ability to recruit, train and support volunteers
Ability to perform regular manual handling, including lifting, moving and positioning donated furniture and other heavy items
