St Margaret’s Hospice Care has a fantastic opportunity for a Shop Manager to join our team in Somerton. You will join us on a permanent basis and in return, you will receive a salary of £20,685.60 per annum. This is a 30‑hour per week, part‑time role, worked across two days. Flexibility is essential, as you will be expected to work additional hours from time to time to support shop cover, particularly during holidays, sickness, or busy periods. The team’s commitment, skills, passion, and energy combine to deliver significant income, enabling our clinical colleagues to deliver their services to nearly 5,000 people across Somerset.
Job Responsibility:
Be responsible for the day‑to‑day running of a busy and well‑established store
Lead, develop, and inspire a team of staff and volunteers
Work as part of a team to drive sales and maximise profit to support our vital hospice services
Create a positive shopping experience for our broad and loyal customer base
Maintain and enhance the store’s performance, identity, and reputation within the local community
Support the Area Manager with recruitment, training, and development of the team
Requirements:
Have experience in a management role, ideally within the retail industry
Demonstrate excellent communication skills and high standards of customer service
Positively demonstrate how you manage, develop, and motivate a team of staff and volunteers

33 days holiday including bank holidays rising to 35 days after 1 year, and increasing with length of service (pro-rata if part-time)
