Job Description

As a Shop Design Specialist, you contribute to positioning the IKEA store as the first choice for home furnishing in your local market.

Job Responsibility

  • Plan and implement store layouts and shop design solutions that are commercial, inspiring, and reflect the IKEA identity
  • Strengthen the customer experience by creating easy, seamless, and engaging shopping journeys
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Logistics to support sales growth and profitability
  • Use customer insights, data, and trends to improve solutions and meet local needs
  • Secure that all design solutions are simple, sustainable, cost-efficient, and safe
  • Actively contribute to store projects, rebuilds, range changes, and commercial activities.

Requirements

  • Education in architecture, retail/environmental design, interior design or a related field
  • Experience in retail design, visual merchandising
  • Strong commercial mindset and understand how design drives sales
  • Confident using design tools (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe, etc.)
  • Translate ideas into practical, simple, and cost-conscious solutions
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on way and enjoy bringing ideas to life using tools and materials — from planning to building and installing (yes, including using a screwdriver)
  • Enjoy working cross-functionally and building strong relationships
  • Communicate fluently in English and Romanian.
