Job Description:

Responsible for managing and coordinating all shipping and receiving for the manufacturing plant.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supervise all outbound shipping activities from the meat processing plant and the grocery warehouse, ensuring products are shipped accurately, on time, and in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate with production teams to plan and prioritize shipping schedules
  • Serve as a liaison between production, quality control and logistics
  • Oversee loading, and shipping of products while ensuring compliance with OMAFRA regulations for and proper handling procedures for all goods
  • Maintain accurate and complete shipping records, including temperature logs, and shipping schedules
  • Ensure cold chain integrity for all temperature-sensitive products during preparation, staging, and transport
  • Collaborate with inventory control to reduce shortages and optimize supply levels to meet production demands
  • Supervise and support shipping and warehouse associates including training, performance feedback, and safety monitoring
  • Coordinate with maintenance to ensure shipping/receiving equipment is properly serviced
  • Work proactively with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve shipping delays or product discrepancies
  • Mentor and cross train associates to build flexibility and ensure business continuity
  • Act as Foreman when the Plant Foreman is unavailable
  • Ensure that the shipping areas and warehouses are kept clean, organized, and in compliance with health, safety, and food handling standards
  • Participate in internal audits and assist during inspections by provincial regulatory authorities
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain, or operations is an asset
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role
  • Experience in food distribution, grocery warehousing, or meat processing is strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with OMAFRA regulations applicable to meat processing facilities
  • knowledge of HACCP principles is an asset
  • Strong coordination and leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-departmental workflows and prioritize competing demands
  • Proficiency with Google applications and ERPs, CSB is an asset
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work in cold/refrigerated environments and perform physical tasks (lifting up to 50 lbs, pushing and pulling up to 100lbs)

Nice to have:

  • Post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain, or operations
  • Experience in food distribution, grocery warehousing, or meat processing
  • Knowledge of HACCP principles
  • Proficiency with Google applications and ERPs, CSB
