As an integral member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and handling logistic activities and coordinating with internal and external parties. You will have the opportunity to perform a variety of duties including shipping, receiving, packaging, pickups, deliveries, and inventory control, contributing to the overall success and growth of our organization. Currently, this is an on-site opportunity located in Houston, TX. This role starts as a temporary position followed by direct hiring upon successful evaluation.
Job Responsibility:
Be responsible for shipping, receiving and distribution of Alfa Laval and customer equipment
Maintain databases of job/parts storage and also Movement Logs
Match inventory received parts with correct jobs
Pick up &/or deliver customer equipment or parts going to vendors
Be responsible for inventory control and participate in physical inventories
Responsible for data entry, verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments and maintain related records such as receiving reports, pictures and updating of electronic data bases
Plan, assemble, disassemble, fabricate or repair crates, boxes, cartons, pallets and other packaging containers of large or unusual size and shape, wraps, protects and packs machinery, equipment or other items for shipment domestically and internationally
Drive flatbed truck to pick up/ deliver loads to / from customer and suppliers
Rigging and lifting of large/heavy items, trained to use straps, large crane hoists and other lifting equipment
Provides security and effective control of customer and Alfa Laval equipment, shop support, and movement of materials or equipment as required inside shop
Be an active participant in production meetings
Requirements:
High School degree or Equivalent with relevant experience in Warehousing, Production or Physical Distribution
Valid Driver's License
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
Written and verbal communication skills
Commitment to a safe behavior
Ability to operate a forklift truck, hand pallet jacks and cranes
Ability to use carpentry hand and power tools and work from specifications, blueprint measurements and shipping instructions
Ability to work independently
Must have a drive for attention to detail
Must be organized
Basic PC knowledge and MS office suite (data entry, clocking in and out, scanning bar codes taking photos, etc.)
