We are currently seeking a dedicated Shipping/Receiving Lead to join a premier manufacturing team in Oakville, Ontario. As a Shipping/Receiving Lead, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless flow of materials, parts, and equipment. This is a hands-on leadership position where your expertise in warehouse operations will directly impact the efficiency and success of the production cycle. Working within the Manufacturing & Logistics sector of Randstad Operational, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations while mentoring a team of warehouse professionals to maintain the highest standards of safety and quality. The Shipping/Receiving Lead position is a day-shift role, typically scheduled from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. However, as a leader in Manufacturing & Logistics, flexibility is key; schedules may shift based on operational demands, and occasional overtime or on-call work may be required to meet shipping deadlines. In this role, you aren't just a supervisor; you are the backbone of the supply chain, ensuring that every inbound and outbound shipment is handled with precision. Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and coordinate all daily shipping, receiving, and material handling operations to ensure maximum accuracy and on-time performance
  • Supervise and support shipping/receiving staff by assigning daily tasks, monitoring workload, and providing hands-on guidance
  • Provide consistent training and mentorship to team members to ensure alignment with company safety and operational standards
  • Oversee the accurate receipt and documentation of all inbound materials, ensuring part numbers and quantities match purchase orders
  • Manage outbound logistics by ensuring all products are properly packaged, labeled, and shipped according to specific customer requirements
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shipping errors, or damages to incoming freight promptly and professionally
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, conducting regular safety checks and equipment inspections
  • Collaborate with the production and procurement teams to prioritize shipments and manage space within the facility
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely to move heavy parts and equipment throughout the warehouse
  • Ensure all shipping and receiving documentation is filed correctly and entered into the internal tracking system with high attention to detail

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in a team lead or supervisory role within a warehouse or logistics setting
  • Must possess a valid Forklift License and have extensive experience operating material handling equipment
  • Strong knowledge of shipping regulations, documentation requirements, and safety protocols (WHMIS/OHSA)
  • Flexibility to work overtime or on-call hours as needed to support operational requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
