The Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for handling shipping, receiving, and inventory transactions to support ongoing projects and ensure accurate material flow. Provides day to day support to team members while helping coordinate warehouse and storage activities in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Leverages ERP systems and prior manufacturing or production experience to maintain efficient operations and inventory accuracy.
Job Responsibility
Support or complete the shipping and receiving of products, parts, and/or materials to customers
Collaborate with the engineering department and lab to facilitate secure delivery to customer
Helps conduct cycle counts on currently stocked material, while also supporting reconciliations to resolve inventory variances
Locates and delivers material as needed to customers to support their tasks
Escalates defective materials or questionable conditions
Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials and receiving tools on hand at all times
May be required to make pick-ups and deliveries to our suppliers for parts and raw materials
Provides shipping costing quotations as requested
Assist with unloading and unpacking all shipments
Accurately identify incoming materials, label and moving parts/materials to designated areas
Record transactions in ERP system for incoming and outgoing shipments and inventory transfers
Assist with sourcing, designing, and packaging materials
Maintain a valid Sigma forklift and Sigma vehicle certification
Support continuous improvement efforts as it relates to inventory management, shipping, and receiving best practices
Follow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data and reduce information security occurrences
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associates Degree preferred
Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience preferred
Strong written and verbal English language communication skills
Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, both within and outside one's own work group
Experience with interpreting packing slips, entering correct information into system, and acknowledging receipt of the goods into the purchase order and processing database
Experience filling out bills of lading and familiarity with various forms used and required by the major freight carriers
Experience estimating weight to calculate the cost of shipping
familiar with proper packaging methods and able to interpret visual aids used to convey specific packaging requirements
Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility
Experience lifting and moving packages and/or containers weighing up to 50 pounds
Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide) in all units of measure
