Are you an experienced logistics professional looking to take the next step in your career? We are currently seeking a dedicated Shipping Lead Hand to join a premier food manufacturing facility in Brantford. This is a pivotal role within our manufacturing & logistics division, where you will oversee the daily flow of goods and lead a small, high-performing team. As a Shipping Lead Hand, you will ensure that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently while maintaining the highest safety standards. In this Shipping Lead Hand position, you will be the go-to person on the day shift, coordinating activities between the warehouse and the production floor. Your expertise in manufacturing & logistics will be essential as you navigate SAP and ERP systems to manage inventory and documentation. This role is perfect for a Shipping Lead Hand who enjoys being hands-on—balancing administrative duties with active operation of Reach and Counterbalance forklifts. Joining this food manufacturing team in Brantford means working for a company that values precision and quality. Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and mentor a team of 2 warehouse employees to ensure daily shipping targets are met
  • Coordinate the daily shipping and receiving schedule within the manufacturing & logistics department
  • Perform accurate data entry and inventory tracking using SAP and ERP systems
  • Operate Reach and Counterbalance forklifts to safely load and unload trailers
  • Oversee the receiving of inventory, verifying packing slips against physical goods received
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment in compliance with food safety standards (HACCP/SQF)
  • Generate shipping labels, bills of lading (BOL), and customs documentation for outgoing freight
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and assist in year-end inventory audits to ensure system accuracy

Requirements:

  • Valid Forklift License (Reach and Counterbalance) is mandatory
  • Advanced proficiency in SAP and ERP systems for warehouse management
  • Strong attention to detail for verifying inventory and shipping documentation
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate with drivers and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment
  • Problem-solving skills to address shipping discrepancies or logistical bottlenecks
  • Understanding of food safety regulations and cold-chain logistics is a strong asset
