Job Description:

Are you an experienced and dedicated Shipper Receiver looking for a new opportunity in the manufacturing industry? Randstad is seeking a reliable and motivated Shipper Receiver to join a dynamic team in Mississauga, Ontario. This is a chance to leverage your expertise in manufacturing and logistics and secure a long-term position with a leading company. Our client is currently growing their team and is in need of shipper and receiver as soon as possible.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manufacturing shipping and receiving position that oversees the daily receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, parts, and supplies
  • On and off-loading materials from trucks. Verify all incoming shipments by comparing the purchase order to the packing slip and ensuring all goods are in acceptable condition
  • Accurately package, label, and weigh items to be shipped and ensure proper shipment method and shipping charges
  • Receive / accept deliveries and store them properly within the warehouse
  • Some additional duties involve assembly, pick / packing, and using scales
  • Keep a daily log of duties performed throughout the day
  • Keep work area clean and organized, including breaking down boxes, taking out the garbage (shipping area only)
  • Training new employees

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced shipping environment for over 3-5 years
  • Must have experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to maintain a high level of physicality for prolonged periods
  • Forklift experience: preferred (counterbalance)
  • Nice to have GED or equivalent in training and experience
  • Interpersonal skills are essential, as working as a team is vital to maintaining an organized warehouse
  • Knowledge of shipping functions and needs
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office: preferred but willing to train
  • Inventory related knowledge and experience within a manufacturing environment: preferred
  • Ability to problem solve quickly and prioritize daily tasks according to their importance
  • Personal accountability and integrity are paramount
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Excellent verbal communications skills
  • Proven record of punctuality and attendance
  • Be self motivated
  • Organized and able to follow instructions
  • Proactive
  • Safety Boots are required on the job
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned

Nice to have:

  • Forklift experience (counterbalance)
  • GED or equivalent in training and experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office
