As the Shipping and Receiving Clerk, Springdale R&D you will be reporting to the Operations Planning Manager, Springdale Development Center. You will prepare hazardous and non-hazardous packages for shipment including completion of all shipment forms, bill of lading, route materials, record shipment data, charges, space availability, damages, discrepancies and complete reports and update system records. Handle and maintain flow of materials and products in manufacturing areas according to established guidelines. This is a fluid position fulfilling the responsibilities of Shipping/Receiving Clerk and Material Handler responsibilities.
Job Responsibility:
Follow all safety guidelines, wear appropriate PPE, and report all safety concerns
Validate or create shipping codes, shipping invoices, BOLs, documentation and labels, SDS for outbound materials, and manage other documentation, records, logs, and data
Use knowledge of shipping, carriers, and requirements select the best carriers and routes
match customer orders with insured carriers for correct equipment or cargo types
Manage on-site storage, inventory, ordering materials, and stocking of shipping materials
Enter all incoming merchandise into inventory
Track all inbound/outbound chemicals
Communicate and report on statuses of shipments incoming and outbound to customers, site leaders, and colleagues
Attend training and maintain certification for hazardous shipping of materials including waste
Loading and unloading trucks of chemicals in a chemical plant
Includes drums, pallets, boxes, hazardous material, flammable, peroxides with motorized fork trucks
Wear appropriate PPE, including FRC and respirators
Collect raw material Samples, requiring above listed PPE
Label incoming raw materials and outgoing finished good drums
Recognize PPG CHAMP Code vs Chemical Name on all incoming RMs
Requirements:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
3+ years of experience in Shipping and Receiving
Previous training, certification, or experience with IATA, DOT, or similar Hazardous Material shipping knowledge
Experienced and comfortable operating a Forklift and computer for record entry
Proficient math skills, problem resolution, and customer service skills
