Summit Skilled Solutions is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Clerk to support daily warehouse and mailroom operations at a client site in Charlotte, NC. This position is responsible for coordinating the receipt, organization, distribution, and shipment of materials in an office warehouse environment. The Shipping & Receiving Clerk will serve as the primary point of contact for shipping-related activities, including domestic and international shipments, and will work cross-functionally to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of all requests.
Job Responsibility:
Receive daily mail and package deliveries
sort and distribute items into designated mail lockers
Prepare materials for shipment, including packaging, weighing, applying postage, sorting, and staging
Maintain and operate postal and material handling equipment, including meters, scales, and related machinery
Track incoming and outgoing shipments and manage mailroom records
Coordinate mass-mailing projects, including planning, fulfillment, address verification, and handling returned mail
Assist with resolving issues related to damaged, delayed, or misdirected shipments
Manage supplies by conducting inventories, restocking materials, controlling costs, and identifying opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency
Support reprographics services such as large-format and poster printing, lamination, mounting, CD duplication, and related tasks as requested
Replenish postage meters as required
Track usage data and prepare monthly reports in accordance with client requirements
Collaborate with internal service teams to ensure customer satisfaction
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Entry-level position
prior shipping, receiving, mailroom, or warehouse experience is a plus but not required
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, safety policies, procedure manuals, and maintenance specifications
Ability to perform all essential job duties with accuracy and attention to detail
Basic computer and office equipment proficiency
Strong organizational and time management skills
Frequent work in an office environment requiring sitting, standing, walking, and use of a computer and phone
Regular walking throughout the facility
Occasional kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 50 pounds
Occasional operation of a pallet jack
Office environment with minimal noise
occasional presence in construction areas with exposure to noise, dust, and debris
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as eye protection, hard hats, gloves, and hearing protection may be required for certain tasks
