The primary responsibility of this role is to efficiently manage the receipt and storage of incoming materials, with a focus on our steel parts. The ideal candidate will ensure all materials are accurately documented, safely stored, and readily accessible for production needs. Please note that most materials will need to be manually put away into stock, requiring physical handling and attention to proper organization. Candidates will only be on a forklift approximately 10% of the day
Job Responsibility
Receive and Inspect Shipments: Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists. Inspect materials for damage and report discrepancies
Material Handling: Safely unload, move, and store materials, including steel, using appropriate equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of received materials and notify Team Lead if any discrepancies or issues are noticed
Storage Organization: Organize and store materials in designated areas, ensuring efficient use of space and easy access for production teams
Documentation: Complete necessary paperwork and electronic records for all received shipments. Ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Report any safety hazards or incidents to management
Collaboration: Work closely with purchasing, production, and quality control teams to ensure seamless operations and timely availability of materials.
Requirements
Candidate must have valid forklift license (electric counterbalance), with min. 1-year operating experience
Candidate will be required to lift min. 35lbs solo
min. 50lbs in team lift (this will occur throughout the day)
Candidate will require attention to detail (i.e. identifying and sorting parts, updating receipt paperwork)
Candidate will require basic computer skills.
