The Shift Technician (Mechanical) is responsible for attending and completing assigned service requests, and for supporting both preventive and reactive maintenance activities for mechanical systems within the facility. This includes HVAC, chilled‑water systems, pumps, compressors, mechanical plant equipment, and supporting infrastructure. The role also provides coordination support for minor projects and ensures safe, reliable, and compliant operations across the site.
Job Responsibility:
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems, including HVAC, AHU/FCU units, chilled water systems, pumps, motors, compressors, piping, and mechanical plant equipment
Monitor mechanical system performance to ensure optimal operation and minimal downtime
Respond to mechanical faults, troubleshoot issues, and recommend corrective actions
Oversee mechanical‑related work orders, ensuring timely completion within agreed KPI thresholds
Coordinate with OEM vendors and contractors for specialized mechanical servicing
Support minor mechanical project activities, including equipment upgrades and system enhancements
Ensure mechanical maintenance tasks comply with all company, client, and statutory standards
Manage and track vendor performance, ensuring quality delivery of mechanical services
Validate service reports, quotations, and invoices for mechanical work
Create and manage recurring maintenance schedules for mechanical vendors
Coordinate day‑to‑day oversight of mechanical work orders with service providers and the client
Assist the Facilities Manager with task assignment to technical staff related to mechanical operations
Arrange contractor submissions such as JHA, worker lists, PTW documents, and scheduling
Monitor and validate contractor safety induction status
Maintain strong working relationships with client representatives, facilities teams, and service providers
Provide timely communication and escalation to the Facility Manager, client, or OEM vendors as required
Support general facility management requests and ensure minimal operational disruption during mechanical works
Act as an interface with clients, visitors, and guests as required
Provide updates, follow‑ups, and closure communication for mechanical‑related service requests
Ensure all mechanical tasks are conducted in a safe manner, maintaining a hazard‑free work environment
Conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) for mechanical activities
Work closely with the HSE team to implement and execute HSE procedures onsite
Support contractor compliance with PTW (Permit to Work) requirements
Prepare weekly reports supporting incident review, performance metrics, and mechanical system status
Assist with budget analysis, cost tracking, and mechanical maintenance reporting
Support continuous improvement initiatives for mechanical system reliability and efficiency
Train vendors and engineers on mechanical‑related CMMS (or applicable platforms)
Maintain and update mechanical asset information, maintenance records, and service schedules
Support space planning tasks when needed, including updates to AutoCAD drawings for mechanical system allocation (optional, depending on role scope)
Requirements:
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification
Mechanical technician certification preferred
Above 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering, facilities management, or construction services
1–2 years of experience in operating mechanical services within a critical facility or data‑center environment (Tier III or equivalent preferred)
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, preventive maintenance, and incident response
Experience with continuous improvement initiatives and technical reporting
Familiarity with CMMS platforms and mechanical asset management tools
