Shift PSV Engineer

• Perform routine preventative maintenance checks, services, and inspections on PSVs in accordance with company standards and VOSA (now DVSA) regulations
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults efficiently and effectively, utilising diagnostic equipment where necessary
• Carry out repairs to engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering, suspension, and other vehicle components
• Conduct MOT preparation and present vehicles for inspection
• Complete all necessary documentation accurately and on time, including job cards, defect reports, and maintenance records
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies
• Work collaboratively with other technicians and workshop staff
• Participate in on-call rotas or emergency breakdown assistance as required
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment
• Order and manage parts inventory as needed

• Recognised qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
• Proven experience as a PSV/HGV Mechanic or Technician, preferably within a bus or coach environment
• Full UK Driving Licence, with a clean record
• PCV (D category) entitlement is highly desirable
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills across a range of vehicle systems
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship
• Knowledge of VOSA/DVSA regulations and legal requirements pertaining to PSVs
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and workshop equipment
