The Shift Production Leader is responsible for leading associates in an engaged manner to achieve desired results in an assigned manufacturing unit. Lead day–to–day activities of the unit by coaching associates on a continuous improvement path in their daily manufacturing activities to achieve desired results.
Job Responsibility:
Promptly address any safety issues or incidents
Lead daily production operations
Ensure that the manufactured products meet the established quality requirements
Responsible for maintaining personnel and training plans within the business unit
Provide regular, timely, and specific feedback to associates
Provide a learning environment and challenge associates to meet higher expectations
Implement BD Excellence components and programs within the manufacturing unit
Ensure that an open flow of communication exists between production associates and management
Represent concerns of production associates to management as well as management concerns to production associates
Ensure fair and consistent application of company and departmental policies and practices
Work with associates to resolve employee relations issues and concerns
involves HR when necessary
Actively participate and support continuous improvement activities
Collaborate with Production Planning to establish production schedules, monitor performance versus schedule for the department
Track the production metrics to ensure that department goals are being met
Communicate the metrics and progress to associates and management
Train associates to be responsible for safety, quality, production, costs, cleanliness and compliance with general policies
Ensure that safety and quality standards are achieved and drive production performance to meet objectives and schedules
Ensure compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures
Perform other tasks as required
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
1–3 years of experience supervising personnel in a manufacturing environment
Organizational and manage time skills to meet deadlines and high–level goals
Ability to influence and build good working relationships according to BD Values
