Shift Production Leader

• Promptly address any safety issues or incidents
• Lead daily production operations
• Ensure that the manufactured products meet the established quality requirements
• Responsible for maintaining personnel and training plans within the business unit
• Provide regular, timely, and specific feedback to associates
• Provide a learning environment and challenge associates to meet higher expectations
• Implement BD Excellence components and programs within the manufacturing unit
• Ensure that an open flow of communication exists between production associates and management
• Represent concerns of production associates to management as well as management concerns to production associates
• Ensure fair and consistent application of company and departmental policies and practices
• Work with associates to resolve employee relations issues and concerns
• involves HR when necessary
• Actively participate and support continuous improvement activities
• Collaborate with Production Planning to establish production schedules, monitor performance versus schedule for the department
• Track the production metrics to ensure that department goals are being met
• Communicate the metrics and progress to associates and management
• Train associates to be responsible for safety, quality, production, costs, cleanliness and compliance with general policies
• Ensure that safety and quality standards are achieved and drive production performance to meet objectives and schedules
• Ensure compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures
• Perform other tasks as required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
• 1–3 years of experience supervising personnel in a manufacturing environment
• Organizational and manage time skills to meet deadlines and high–level goals
• Ability to influence and build good working relationships according to BD Values
• Effective oral/written communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Bilingual English and Spanish (preferred)
