Job Responsibility:

  • Monitor and manage critical facility systems such as power (including generators), cooling (HVAC), and fire suppression
  • Ensure uptime and availability of all facility-related services
  • Conduct “eyes on glass” for the facility equipment alarms
  • Perform alarm analysis and propose suggestion to reduce the alarms to the engineering team
  • This includes monitoring network performance, analyzing logs, and responding to alerts and incidents
  • Handle and manage network incidents, including recording incidents, escalating as needed, and ensuring timely resolution
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as engineering team, system administrators, and vendors, to resolve complex issues
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation for BMS systems, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures
  • Document network changes, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions for future reference
  • Participate in change management processes, ensuring that changes are properly planned, tested, and implemented with minimal disruption to data centre services
  • Collaborate with other IT teams, including network engineers, system administrators, and help desk personnel, to address network-related issues
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing timely updates on network incidents and resolutions
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging network technologies, industry best practices, and advancements in network monitoring tools
  • Continuously enhance technical skills through self-learning, training, and certifications
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including network diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and incident reports
  • Ensure smooth transitions between shifts by providing thorough updates and documentation to the next shift or manager

Requirements:

  • A diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline is often required
  • Relevant experience in a NOC or data centre environment is beneficial, with a minimum of 3 years being common for some roles
  • Experience with network monitoring tools and technologies eg. ITIL
  • Familiarity with network hardware, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers
  • Understanding of network security principles and practices
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting network issues and conducting root cause analysis
  • 24/7 operational environment, including on-call rotations
