Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited (P&H) has an opportunity for a motivated, forward-thinking, and dedicated individual as a Shift Miller for our Milling division bases in Lethbridge, AB. P&H is the largest Canadian-owned milling company. The P&H Milling Group sources wheat from Western Canada, Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada to produce quality flour and cereal products. The lineup includes hard red spring wheat flour for breads and other bakery products, soft winter wheat flour for cakes and cookies, as well as semolina flour for pasta, organic flour, and atta flour for chappati. In our specialty milling operation in Saskatoon, we also mill pea fractions. From its mills in Halifax, Nova Scotia; Acton, Hanover, Hamilton, and Cambridge, Ontario; Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; and Lethbridge, Alberta, the P&H Milling Group supplies flour to customers throughout Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Iceland, and Pacific Rim countries. Job Responsibility:

  • Reporting to the Mill Manager
  • Operate and maintain the wheat cleaning and milling systems to ensure safe, efficient production of high-quality flour and semolina products
  • Support both White Flour and Durum mills, optimizing yield and performance while following all Health, Safety, and Food Safety standards
  • Operate and adjust milling equipment to maximize flour extraction and meet quality specifications
  • Maintain mill balance, capacity, and performance within safety and efficiency targets
  • Conduct routine cleaning, equipment checks, and product changeovers
  • Monitor wheat conditioning and product quality
  • make process adjustments as needed
  • Support troubleshooting, minor maintenance, and coordination with material handling teams
  • Accurately complete production, inspection, and Food Safety reports (BRC/HACCP)
  • Uphold all Health and Safety and Food Safety protocols

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required
  • minimum 3 years of milling experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and operational troubleshooting ability
  • Completion of at least IAOM Module 3 and willingness to continue coursework
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team
  • Physically able to perform lifting and manual tasks
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office) and experience using Mercury software
