The role of Shift Leader is recognised as a first line manager position within the business and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of their area, resources and team members, with primary responsibilities to organise the manufacturing process and ensuring colleagues operate in a safe and timely manner whilst also achieving the customer’s requirements for quality.

Requirements:

Responsibility for people management including Health & Safety, Training & Development, Performance Development Plans/Reviews, Performance and Absence Management, Investigations, Discipline & Grievance
Responsibility for achieving operational targets (Waste, Service, Quality, Overtime, Manning, OTIF, Down time, Stock Levels, Complaints reduction, SSOW/SOPs, Safety Conversations, Audits)
Responsibility for operational activities including ensuring safety systems are followed, achieving customer delivery and quality, completing quality checks, optimising machine speeds, communicating incident reports, achieving set up time targets, achieving machine feed targets, conducting housekeeping audits, managing machine crewing & holiday requirements, providing accurate shift end reports, monitoring crew training and performance reviews
Adherence to all SWG health and safety policies
Responsibility for own health and safety and that of others
For managers, responsibility for implementing SWG policies and compliance with Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 (amended 2003) and other UK/European legislation
