Pier One Sydney Harbour is looking for a Shift Engineer to join our team. Job Responsibility:

  • Perform various maintenance services and repairs across the property
  • Assist in maintaining the buildings' plant equipment including chiller, boilers, ventilation systems, pumps, water and sewage services
  • Basic plumbing, carpentry, painting and low voltage electrical tasks (trade experience required)
  • Perform Preventative maintenance tasks in our hotel rooms using Transcendent App
  • Daily reporting of all energy, water and gas meters around the property
  • Adhere to sound maintenance practices, building codes and following safety precautions
  • Small scale installation and construction works
  • Operating the EMS Fire System for isolate/de-isolate requests
  • Operate and monitor the Building Management System (BMS) to respond to requests and adjust HVAC operations, ensuring optimal comfort, efficiency, and system performance across the property
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures
  • report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries
  • and complete safety training and certifications
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets
  • Reach overhead and below the knees. Move in confined or elevated spaces
  • Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces. Move up and down stairs, service ramps and/or a ladder. Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight

Requirements:

  • Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree
  • At least 3 years of related work experience, hotel experience valued
  • Ability to work with little supervision and to tight deadlines
  • Availability: Shifts rotate between morning, afternoon and some weekends
