Job Description:

Arriva is looking for a skilled and motivated PSV Shift Engineer / Working Chargehand to join our engineering team at our Grays garage. This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer ready to take the next step into a leadership role while remaining hands-on.

Job Responsibility:

  • Carrying out maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a modern fleet of buses
  • Supporting and supervising engineers on shift
  • Ensuring all vehicles meet safety and compliance standards
  • Diagnosing faults and implementing effective solutions
  • Assisting with shift planning and workshop organisation

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with PSV/HGV vehicles
  • Relevant engineering qualifications (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent preferred)
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive, team-focused attitude
