Job Description:

We are looking for a SHEQ Coordinator to support our quayside activities in Waalhaven. This is a hands-on, site-based role in which you will work closely with supervisors, crews, and subcontractors to ensure that all activities are carried out safely and in line with our SHEQ standards. You will report directly to the Site Manager and work closely with the SHEQ Engineer from Offshore Energy – Fleet Management.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support site management in maintaining compliance with applicable local legislation, regulatory requirements, and internal SHEQ standards
  • Carry out regular safety walks and site inspections
  • Deliver and continuously improve site inductions and toolbox talks
  • Review and advise on safety plans and mobilisations
  • Work closely with operations to ensure the safe execution of daily quay activities, including vessel-related work
  • Provide SHEQ input during vessel repairs afloat, and during vessel docking repairs
  • Identify unsafe situations and take action to address them
  • Ensure incident reporting is completed and properly followed up
  • Participate in incident and accident investigations, including root cause analysis and follow-up of corrective actions
  • Work with the Site Manager to keep the site risk register up to date, ensuring risks are identified, reviewed and controlled
  • Carry out and support audits and inspections
  • Maintain a visible presence on site and actively promote safe behaviours
  • Act as a visible ambassador for NINA, promoting Boskalis safety values, behaviours, and rules on site.

Requirements:

  • 2–5 years of SHEQ experience, ideally in port, maritime, logistics, or industrial operations
  • MVK, NEBOSH, or similar qualification
  • VCA VOL, or willingness to obtain it at short notice
  • A practical and proactive mindset, with the confidence to speak up and address unsafe situations
  • Comfortable working in a busy operational environment
  • Basic understanding of risk assessments, permits, and safety procedures
  • Good command of English and Dutch
  • Dutch is essential for this role due to day-to-day compliance with Dutch legislation and communication with local authorities.
