Job Description:

Our business is going through a sustained period of growth and we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced SHEQ Adviser to join our team in Weston-super-mare.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support the wider operations team through development, embedding and promotion of health, safety environmental and quality standards
  • To monitor, evaluate and review SHEQ policy and practices, make recommendations and amend as required, through audits, inspections and reviews
  • To advise on the implications of current and emerging health and safety legislation, including evaluating options and making recommendations
  • Develop and deliver in-house training with managers and employees on all relevant aspects of SHE
  • Work within all business areas to ensure SHEQ standards are appropriately implemented within their areas of control and are sufficiently robust for anticipated demands
  • Provide input for regular SHEQ communications for all levels of staff to include written information, toolbox talks and management briefings
  • Assist with and / or lead on incident investigations

Requirements:

  • Experience of working in a similar role
  • NEBOSH qualified
  • Strong working experience of H&S systems and legislation such as ISO45001 / HSG65
  • Some experience of Environmental Management and Quality systems would be an advantage: ISO 14001/ ISO 9001 etc.
  • Strong & confident communicator and good stakeholder management skills
  • Promotes positive workplace culture, inspiring and influencing others
