Job Description:

Full-time Sheet Metal Worker position available with competitive salary. Work in a dynamic team in Sefton NSW 2162. On behalf of our client, we are currently seeking a dedicated, self-driven and highly organized Sheet Metal Worker to be part of their growing team.

Job Responsibility:

Interpreting technical drawings and blueprints for projects and assessing the processes, materials and tools needed
Measuring and marking pieces of sheet metal according to the plans and cuts required
Cutting, bending, and stamping sheet metal to match design instructions.
Welding, soldering, bolting, brazing and riveting sheet metal to put together and install metal items.
Install piping, tubing, and ducting for heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems and installing metal roofing sheets, guttering and downspouts.
Soldering and insulating roof coverings to make them waterproof.
Applying paint and rust inhibitors to sheet metal to improve their appearance and protect the material.
Assessing damaged or rusty sheet metal products and repairing or replacing them as required.
Inspecting installed and repaired sheet metal products to make sure they’re fit for purpose, waterproofed and sealed.
Perform routine and unplanned maintenance on roofing and cladding and on the ducting and piping of air conditioning systems.
Carrying out repair work using hammers, drills, welding equipment and other tools.

Requirements:

Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, sketches and specifications
Extensive knowledge of various metal materials, their properties and applications
Strong fabrication skills, including cutting, bending and stamping techniques
Proficiency in installing and assembling Sheetmetal products using various techniques
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
Minimum Certificate level or equivalent relevant work experience
Minimum one year of work experience on relevant position
White card- to work out on site
