Make your mark as SHE-Q Officer at Smit Lamnalco! We are looking for a Competent Safety Health, Environment and Quality officer (SHE-Q Officer) who has valid track record in the Maritime industry and willing to further his/her experience and exposure in a professional setting. The personnel will work from our Onne Office (in Port-Harcourt ) and will report directly to the SHE-Q Manager.
Job Responsibility:
Conducting SHE-Q systems, processes, project audits and reporting to SHE-Q Manager
Support the SHE-Q Manager in preparing report on audit findings
Register and follow up on corrective action requests to correct system related issues
Assist in developing and improving work instructions, procedures, process flows and standard operating procedures
Coordinate with SHE-Q Manager, Contract Manager and Client for all vessel Statutory Inspections (Class, Flag-state, OVID, SUPO, MAR 7) e.t.c. and report back on SHE-Q findings
Investigation of incidents, drafting of incident reports
Assist in making SHE-Q statistics
Identify areas for improvement and recommends improvements
Presenting of outcomes of incident reports and potential improvements to (regional) operations teams
Verify emergency preparedness through conduct of drills and debriefings
Communicate/coordinate SHE-Q matters through safety meetings, toolbox meetings, safety alerts
Support in arranging SHE-Q related trainings
Support the SHE-Q Manager in Promoting safe practices through campaigns, competition, and incentives
Support the SHE-Q Manager in evaluating SHE-Q reports from vessels i.e. End of Month reports, ABC cards, Safety Meetings etc
Aid SHE-Q Manager during incident investigation, Near miss & Safety related observations
Support SHE-Q manager in conducting induction and familiarization program in line with Company expectation for new joiners
Periodically visit vessels offshore to check and monitor SHE-Q compliance level with Company management system
Perform other activities as maybe required by line manager
Requirements:
In possession of a Bachelor Degree
Good knowledge of Marine operations in the Oil/gas industry (STCW, MLC, ISM, OVID, MARPOL)
NEBOSH -IGC certified
Minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience in maritime industry
Previous Maritime experience in HSE role dealing with Offshore vessels will be an asset
Conversant with applicable international standards in the (maritime) industry e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISM, ISPS and OVMSA
