Make an impact: Play a key role in shaping the safety, health and environmental (SHE) culture of a respected organisation. This is an opportunity to lead meaningful change, influence senior stakeholders and ensure high standards of compliance, assurance and continuous improvement across the business. What you’ll be doing: You will take ownership of BRE’s SHE management system, ensuring it is effective, compliant and driving real impact.

Job Responsibility

  • Leading SHE audits, inspections and assurance activity across the organisation
  • Ensuring compliance with UK legislation, internal standards and certification requirements
  • Overseeing incident investigation, root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Managing SHE risk, performance reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supporting internal and external audits and maintaining audit readiness
  • Driving a positive safety culture through leadership, communication and training
  • Working closely with senior leaders to embed SHE into business processes
  • Line management of SHE team member(s) and oversight of SHE budget and KPIs

Requirements

  • Experience in a SHE Manager / HSE / SHEQ / EHS leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and regulatory compliance
  • Hands-on experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems
  • A track record in audits, inspections, incident investigation and assurance
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and lead culture change
  • Strong analytical skills, including use of SHE data and KPI reporting
  • Experience operating in regulated or operational environments (e.g. built environment, engineering, manufacturing or similar)
  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and IOSH membership (GradIOSH/CMIOSH preferred)
