In a typical day, the temporary SFDC/CPQ Instructional Designer partners closely with product owners, SMEs, and enablement stakeholders to understand upcoming system enhancements and their impact on end users. They translate functional changes into clear training requirements, design and develop targeted learning assets such as simulations, quick reference guides, and short eLearning modules, and prepare materials for timely launch aligned to release schedules. The role also includes monitoring learner effectiveness through surveys and simulations, hosting office hours to support adoption, and responding to end-user questions to ensure new functionality is understood and applied correctly.
Job Responsibility:
Partnering with product owners and SMEs to understand system functionality changes and associated training requirements
Determining the most appropriate training approach for each change (e.g., simulations, quick reference guides, videos, eLearning, or live support)
Designing, developing, and launching training materials aligned to release timelines
Monitoring end-user knowledge, skills, and abilities through simulations, surveys, and feedback loops
Supporting broader enablement activities, including office hours and just-in-time support, to reinforce adoption and address user questions
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent in Instructional Design, Learning Technologies, Education, Life Science, Clinical Diagnostics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
6+ years experience in developing and applying instructional design techniques within a fast-paced environment
Experience working in a matrix organization including building relationships remotely and cross culturally, taking a collaborative approach to decision making and problem solving
Skilled communicator with excellent grammar, punctuation, and writing skills, and the ability to comprehend complex information/concepts quickly and convey them in a clear, understandable format
Results-driven collaborator with strong time and project management skills
able to multi-task, adapt to changes, and allocate time effectively to ensure deadlines are met in a fast-paced global environment
Demonstrates problem-solving skills with the ability to assess situations, identify potential problems or challenges, and proactively implement timely and effective solutions or escalate issues that cannot be independently resolved
Skill in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Skill in using eLearning technical tools such as Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, and Adobe Captivate.
