Job Description:

Make a Difference Where It Matters Most. Are you passionate about delivering inclusive, person-centred sexual health care? Do you thrive in fast-paced, innovative environments? Are you motivated by reaching people who need healthcare the most? Join our Integrated Sexual Health Service, where you’ll combine clinical expertise within our clinical hubs across Leicestershire & Rutland, with meaningful outreach—providing high-quality care to some of the most vulnerable and high-risk groups in our communities. This is more than a clinic-based post. As well as working within our sexual health hubs, it’s an opportunity to take sexual health expertise INTO the community: working with people who face the greatest barriers to accessing care, and ensuring they are supported, empowered, and protected.

Job Responsibility:

  • Delivering specialist interventions both inside clinic and out in the community
  • Targeted outreach to high-risk groups (e.g., people experiencing homelessness, young people, sex workers, migrants, victims of exploitation)
  • Leading nurse-led clinics, working across sites, and supporting the wider MDT to ensure smooth, safe service delivery
  • STI/HIV screening and treatment, contraception management (including IUD/implant insertion and removal following training), PGD use, triage, health promotion, complex case management and participation in MDTs and safeguarding processes
  • Contributing to service development, audit, policy updates, and evidence-based practice improvements

Requirements:

  • NMC registration and experience as a Sexual Health Nurse
  • STIF Intermediate and DFRSH qualification
  • Strong autonomous clinical practice and decision-making skills
  • Experience or passion for working with vulnerable or high-risk groups
  • A drive for continuous improvement and innovation in sexual health
  • The ability to lead, support, and influence across the nursing team
  • A commitment to evidence-based practice, clinical governance, and excellent patient care
  • Non-medical prescriber or experienced user of PGD’s in a non-clinical environment
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes
What we offer:
  • NHS Pension and full Agenda for Change terms and conditions
  • Membership of My Reward Hub, giving you access to discounts on every day purchases like grocery shopping as well as cashback and voucher offers for treats
  • Access to your wages as you earn them to help cover life’s emergencies and avoid overdraft fees or high interest rates
  • Online and face to face help with your mental and physical wellbeing – from healthy recipes and activity challenges through to post trauma support, legal, debt and life management help, as well career coaching and counselling
  • Access to eLearning, bespoke career pathways and opportunities for continuing professional development through our ‘Outstanding’ learning and development team, The Learning Enterprise
  • An open, just culture where you’re encouraged to have and implement ideas which can help us deliver our purpose: changing lives through transforming health and care – backed up by at least £100,000 of ringfenced innovation funding each year
  • The pride of working for an organisation committed to the highest clinical and quality standards: with the majority of our rated services holding “good” or “outstanding” ratings from the Care Quality Commission
