Horizon Freight System; TRX, Inc.; and PFQ Companies, three of the most experienced intermodal trucking companies in the United States, have an opportunity for a highly motivated, career-minded individual to join our team as a Settlements Specialist. This position is full-time, on-site in our Valley View, Ohio office. In this role and as part of our Settlements Team, you will support our owner operators and terminals as you perform accounts payable tasks related to their settlements (pay) to ensure they are paid accurately and on time. Job Responsibility

  • Performing accounts payable/invoicing functions
  • Corresponding with owner operators, terminals, and internal staff about settlements, deductions, reimbursements, billing discrepancies, and related transactions
  • Collecting and organizing load paperwork, including Bills of Lading and delivery receipts
  • Monitor, sort, and prioritize group email and phone correspondence to ensure issues and questions are resolved in a timely and complete manner
  • Investigating discrepancies to resolve billing issues
  • Data entry

Requirements

  • Trucking, transportation, and/or DOT experience strongly preferred but not required
  • Accounts payable experience preferred but not required
  • Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment where you will interact with a variety of people, including owner operators, terminals, co-workers, and internal departments
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to recognize and appropriately respond to tone in phone and email correspondence
  • Customer service-oriented
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Aptitude for quickly learning and navigating a variety of computer programs, apps, and websites
  • Bilingual English / Spanish a plus
