Requirements

Valid CSCS card (White/Gold/Black)
Degree or HND/HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent proven field experience)
Proven experience in bulk earthworks, machine control setup, drainage, and road construction on major infrastructure or bypass schemes
Autonomy to act as the only engineer on package
Exceptional communication skills
Own surveying equipment (Robotic Total Station/GPS) and laptop with AutoCAD software (optional)

Job Responsibility

Executing precise setting out for bulk earthworks, deep drainage installation, and initial road construction layers
Setting up, calibrating, and troubleshooting 3D machine control systems on heavy plant
Uploading and downloading design data, extracting information from AutoCAD, and managing digital terrain models
Conducting as-built surveys, maintaining quality assurance records, and managing volume calculations for earthworks cut/fill

Job Responsibility

Setting out piles and beams on site including recording as build’s and reporting any discrepancies

Report site progress to engineering and survey department
Co-ordinating Pile/Beam layouts with site layout drawings
Planning and managing your own time to ensure all sites can be catered for
Conduct quality control checks and build records and provide site technical support
Assist in the supervising of subcontractors on site setting out
Check quantities for accuracy of calculations

Job Responsibility

Set out and level the site using Topcon (EDM)
Knowledge of site calibration checks
Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise
Carry out and record quality inspections
Use digital / web platforms ie. Fieldview, Viewpoint for projects, Topcon magnetic field / office
Carry out as-built surveys, producing and assessing as built files
Support construction team with coordination of Temporary Works
Be an excellent communicator & take leadership within the Engineering team
May be required to oversee some of the document control aspects.
