This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an established team in Citi's Services' Controls organisation with senior responsibilities across the JANA Cluster. The Controls team is part of Services' 1st line of defence, and the JANA Cluster team manages risk in alignment to this, as well as within the wider Citi franchise in the relevant region. The role includes overseeing local regulatory obligations and governance frameworks applicable to the cluster, local controls, and bringing together the community of Services Controls professionals within the cluster. A key role within the JANA, with a mandate to manage the cluster's Controls teams, support the local business risk agenda, and drive execution to meet local governance and regulatory requirements and changes, as well as oversight of local controls supporting local Operations. The JANA Cluster leads the identification of opportunities to enhance our regulatory and Controls environment for key risks relevant to the cluster and provides subject matter expertise and support across the cluster to the business, as required. The role will report to the Global Head of Services Controls and will be part of the Global Controls leadership team and will collaborate closely with key stakeholders and partners across Citi.
Job Responsibility
Lead a team of JANA-based Controls professionals, including those dedicated to local regulatory compliance, governance, and conduct agendas, as well as related Risk and Regulation training
Provide strategic direction and oversight to ensure the team delivers high-quality risk management and Controls execution aligned with both local and global standards
Develop and retain talent within the Controls function, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development
Function as key point of contact across the JANA Cluster franchise and support initiatives and agendas arising from local regulators, industry bodies, or internal stakeholders
Responsibility to monitor compliance with and any associated or secondary regulation across the cluster, including: Senior management accountability frameworks applicable to the cluster

Identify enhancements to documentation, Controls, and/or processes in place to comply with local governance and risk requirements and associated regulation
Lead escalation for JANA Cluster senior management in Citi in line with firmwide guidelines
Function as a key resource for the JANA Cluster to advise and support on the effective design and implementation of key Controls and processes across relevant risk stripes (Operational, Compliance, Enterprise)
Identify and lead opportunities to enhance the regulatory and Controls environment for key risks relevant to the cluster, providing subject matter expertise and support to the business as required
Develop and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders across multiple countries, products, and control functions within the JANA Cluster, as well as globally
Serve as a key contributor to relevant Enterprise and Services forums, representing the cluster's risk and Controls perspective
Partner closely with Central Controls, 2LOD (ICRM, IRM), 3LOD (Internal Audit), and other key partners to ensure alignment and consistency in risk management practices
Co-ordinate and manage compliance monitoring routines or internal audits related to the cluster, ensuring timely and effective responses to findings and recommendations
Lead escalation for JANA Cluster senior management in Citi in line with firmwide guidelines, ensuring transparency and accountability in issue resolution
Monitor and assess the impact of new or revised regulations in the pipeline, driving change in processes and Controls to ensure the JANA Cluster remains compliant and ahead of regulatory expectations
Provide strategic consultation on regulatory developments and their implications for the cluster's business model, risk profile, and control environment
Requirements
Significant expertise of Operational Risk Management and other regulatory related functions within the Financial Services sector (10+ years preferred)
Deep understanding of Operational Risk and related frameworks as they relate to the banking sector is required, as is a working knowledge of the regulatory environment/regime applicable to the cluster
Familiarity with key risk frameworks such as Manager's Control Assessment (MCA) / Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA)

Proven record in monitoring compliance to regulation including Controls and process mapping within the MCA construct
Excellent business acumen, and ability to quickly understand multiple areas within a function and across functions, and how they interact to achieve the objective of the processes
Experience working in a global, matrixed organisation, with the ability to navigate complexity and drive results across geographies and business lines
Education - Bachelor's Degree is required
Ability to work effectively and drive results in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, master’s in risk management, Law) or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CIA, CRCM, FRM) are highly desirable
Familiarity with risk and control platforms (e.g., Citi Risk & Control (CRC), PEGA, Tableau) is preferred
