Job Responsibility

  • Implement, configure, and maintain the ServiceNow CMDB in collaboration with infrastructure operations and platform owners
  • Define and enforce CMDB policies, standards, business rules, and procedures
  • Perform audits and reconciliation to ensure CMDB data accuracy and integrity
  • Configure and manage discovery schedules, probes, sensors, and credentials
  • Deploy and manage MID Servers
  • Analyze and optimize discovery data sources
  • Understand and create discovery patterns as needed
  • Manage CI classes and relationships within the CMDB
  • Align CMDB structure with the Common Services Data Model (CSDM)
  • Design automation to identify, clean up, and retire stale configuration items
  • Apply networking knowledge (IP addressing, protocols, ports, firewalls) to support discovery and CMDB accuracy
  • Support Windows and Linux environments, including DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory integrations
  • Manage service accounts and ensure secure system access
  • Use basic scripting (PowerShell, JavaScript, or Python) to automate CMDB and discovery processes
  • Partner with IT teams, business stakeholders, and vendors to align CMDB capabilities with organizational goals
  • Provide guidance and training on CMDB best practices
  • Build and maintain CMDB dashboards and reports
  • Configure and monitor the CMDB Health Dashboard
  • Analyze CMDB performance and recommend improvements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 3–5 years of hands‑on experience with ServiceNow CMDB
  • Experience with ITSM processes (Incident, Problem, Change, CMDB, Asset Management)
  • Hands‑on experience with ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, and integrations
  • ServiceNow CMDB & CSDM (CI classes, relationships, data modeling)
  • Discovery configuration (schedules, probes, sensors, MID Servers, credentials)
  • Networking fundamentals (IP, protocols, firewalls, ports)
  • Windows/Linux administration
  • DNS, DHCP, Active Directory
  • Basic scripting (PowerShell, JavaScript, or Python)
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) – required

Nice to have

  • ITIL framework experience
  • Exposure to cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments
  • Knowledge of data governance or compliance standards
  • Experience with integration/data sources such as Microsoft SCCM, ManageEngine OpManager, or similar tools
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Data Foundations – preferred
