As a Pressure Relief Valve Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and quality of critical processes within various industrial settings, including refineries, chemical plants, and power stations. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain, diagnose, and repair pressure relief valves to prevent potential hazards and optimize operational efficiency.
Job Responsibility:
Valve Maintenance and Repair: Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on pressure relief valves to ensure they operate effectively and safely. This includes disassembly, cleaning, inspection, replacement of faulty parts, and reassembly according to manufacturer specifications
Diagnostic Analysis: Utilize your analytical skills to diagnose issues with pressure relief valves, such as leaks, improper functioning, or wear and tear. Employ troubleshooting techniques to identify root causes and develop appropriate corrective actions
Corrective Actions Implementation: Implement corrective actions to address identified issues promptly and effectively. This may involve adjusting settings, replacing components, or conducting repairs to restore valves to proper working condition
Quality Assurance: Prioritize safety and quality in all aspects of valve servicing to prevent potential risks to personnel and equipment. Adhere strictly to industry standards and regulations as outlined by NBIC, ASME, and API. Upholding the highest standards of safety and operational excellence
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of valve inspections, maintenance activities, repairs performed, and any relevant findings. Generate detailed reports to document the status of valves and provide recommendations for improvements or future actions
Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other maintenance personnel, engineers, and operations teams to coordinate valve servicing activities and ensure minimal disruption to operations. Communicate effectively to convey findings, recommendations, and any safety concerns.
Requirements:
2+ years of valve repair, testing, reconditioning, or conversion experience
Strong hands-on mechanical skills and a thorough understanding of valve systems and components
Ability to work in both independent and team settings
Read and interpret schematics proficiently
Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement by enhancing output, quality, and delivery processes
Knowledge of bolt torquing techniques
Ability to use measurement devices such as Vernier calipers
Adapt to working in diverse environments, both in a shop atmosphere and outside at customer-owned facilities
Clear verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information and collaborate effectively with team members.
